So, I had some time between classes, so I figured that I’d put today’s post together.

The Book of Biff

This is so true. In fact, I consider it to be a precious skill of mine that I am able to walk places without looking up from a book that I happen to be reading. Traffic lights don’t count.

Collar 6

Okay, first post on this. Collar 6 is about a relationship between a mistress and her slave. Yes, this means that lesbian bondage sex is involved in some respect, but so far that seems to be what might be called an undertone to the overall comic. It’s not too long, but so far it seems to have dealt with the insecurities that dwell within a sub- submissive, in case you don’t have the vocab.

Like I said, Laura’s dealing with some insecurities right now. It seems like she’s lacking in faith in their closeness for some reason.

Ctrl+Alt+Del

I had to laugh at this at least a little. Ethan’s life has been saved, but he’s pissed about that. Why? Because his brother was being awesome while doing the saving.

Cyanide and Happiness

….yeah, not one of my favorites. I don’t see this as something that would reasonably happen.

Game Destroyers

I’m sure that Zippy and Scout are fine. There’s really too much tension in this page.

Girly

Well, that explains the divorce. I’m both glad I know and wish I’d never had to find out.

Goodbye Chains

I forget the story about the ribbon. Was there a story about the ribbon? There must be, otherwise Banjo wouldn’t have claimed to be gay.

Irregular Webcomic

As far as I’m concerned, American cheese has one real use- in grilled cheese sandwiches, which aren’t supposed to be appetizing. See Lead Paint for more detail on this rule. Of course, they could still tunnel through it.

Luke Surl

Well, hopefully the new queen’s parents are open-minded, right?

Misfile

Rumi has a point, but it’s not a very good one. And this guy is?

Mysteries of the Arcana

Boom. Nice.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

This reminds me of anti-crimes. A fun concept.

Sluggy Freelance

So Torg and Kiki are back. That seems to cheapen things a bit.

Union of Heroes

Oh, so it’s not onto Day 2. Interlude funtime.

xkcd

For some reason, I find myself doubting the accuracy of these graphs. Except, of course, the last one. It is a fun concept, though.

The Book of Biff

Biff can now fly. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean he can safely land.

Cyanide and Happiness

Most adults have learned to dread tickets. Or so I hear.

Game Destroyers

The group is splitting up further again. Because that’s always a good idea. Now both of the bunnies are alone together.

Goblins

Ah, fighter. And level six. That’s pretty high, right? Oh, yeah, and there’s an egg there. What’s up with that?

Irregular Webcomic

Despite their logic, I have difficulty believing that their grandfathers will willingly give up their lives for science.

Misfile

Enjoyment during difficult situations through perversion. How come I never thought of that?

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

I feel uncomfortable commenting on this page. It hits a little too close to home.

Sluggy Freelance

So Torg and Kiki have been gone for the last seven days, were last seen unconscious in the middle of a blizzard, and are expected to be alive? If this wasn’t a comic, I’d say that was naive.

Something Positive (2)

The only thing that I’m finding especially interesting about any of these is that Kharisma’s awake. And the dream, but that’s just because of all the blood.

So, I’ve learned the perils of reading Something Positive more-or-less along with one of your closest friends.Yes, that was an excuse. But I’ve closed that tab now, so I’ve finally been able to get a real post in. At… well, it’s 1:23 AM now…. the next day. Yes, I do intend on putting up another post once I’ve lost and regained consciousness. Another fun thing that I’d like to say is that she gave me a link to comic that I don’t already read, so that’s going on the list. Again, that’ll occur once I’ve had some sleep. The name of the comic is Collar 6, and it will be my first truly adult comic (because since I’m still not sure, Concession probably doesn’t count). A third point is that Hero’s site doesn’t seem to be active. I’ll wait around for a bit and then see if I can’t create a new section on The List for it.

+1 Comics

I think that the way this ploy is supposed to work is that, since “what” is the last thing we hear, our minds immediately grab onto it as an acceptable response. Or I’m putting too much thought into this comment.

Back on Earth

Wait a second, is the badger going to become a mascot for Back on Earth? The first thing that comes to mind is that that’s an almost overplayed idea. However, to start with, it’s not a cat. That offers some bonuses. And it’s naturally dangerous, which offers wonderful perks that don’t involve altering the nature of reality any further.

The Book of Biff (2)

I use my cell phone as a flashlight all the time, although I’ve found that it’s actually the edges that glow the brightest. And the second one actually amuses me on a deep, personal level. So relaxing.

Bunny Pandemic

If there’s supposed to be a joke here, I either do not understand it or just don’t find it funny.

Counterfeit Nickels

Since when are bears considered to be the same as humans regarding crime? If a bear steals your picnic basket and you don’t like it, you grab a shotgun. Simple.

Ctrl+Alt+Del (2)

Ethan’s trying to be cool under pressure. Yeah, it’s really that bad. And yet, I see this as being the moment things should probably start going very well for him. (<written prior to page 2) Did I call that or what?

Cyanide and Happiness (2) (3) (4)

In order: That dirtbag, playing arts and crafts with a 9 year old; It’s a good thing he got that checked early- addiction is a terrible thing; I don’t think he should get any girls anyways with burnt-out lines like that; and I have the sudden desire for a taco with nacho cheese on top of it-that’d be delicious.

Eben07

Okay, so they have a contact. That smooths things out a tiny bit, I suppose.

Game Destroyers (2) (3)

Long story short, Alden resisted, he was convinced (under mysterious circumstances, and they are now climbing an impossibly tall tree.

Girly

That has to be the weirdest divorce ever. Yes, that’s all I’m paying attention to on this page.

Goodbye Chains (2)

And Banjo fights back, even when tied up. Awesome!

Irregular Webcomic (2) (3) (4)

Yep, another set of individuals. I know how this goes. In the first, this is a major point. Personally, I like to think that my word means something. For one thing, I’ve refused to make promises that I wasn’t sure I could keep. On the second, yeah, it’s too boring to comment further on. The third is actually a little funny. Sadly, the fourth doesn’t follow up.

Lead Paint

I was such a spineless antisocial mess as a kid that I actually value all of the years that I didn’t have to do school plays.

Life’s a Witch

I kind of wish I had the ability to speed sleep, but I’d really rather wish I didn’t snore. I think that might be part of the reason why I’m never really comfortable sleeping over another person’s house.

Luke Surl (2)

It must have been hell trying to edit articles back then. And I loved this concept. But then again, I tend to love both the cruel hopelessness of realistic physics and the pointless loss of human life.

Misfile (2)

Okay, if Ash keeps going on about this, there’s got to be more about Halloween that she hates than the whore-y costumes. And isn’t that the guy that swore to take over the old road? I guess he’s serious about attempting that.

Mysteries of the Arcana (2) (3) (4)

So, yeah, Theresa died, but since her dying is forbidden, she is now alive again. Woot. Gotta say that I’m not too crazy about the glowing head on J, though. It just reminds me too much of Sluggy, and not in a good way. However, overall, I’ll give this little mini-story a 4/5. And with that said, the main plot continues.

The Noob Comic

And the hot chick is ditched for the elf. Oh, goody.

Order of the Stick

Wait, so they have a full-fledged plan because V noticed a single word? How fucked up is that?

Peebles Lab

It took me a bit, but once I understood this page it was okay. You know, besides the second frame, which I still don’t understand.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (2) (3) (4)

None of these were especially funny, except maybe the second. Heh. Booger-dick. And I don’t feel like commenting on all of them individually now that it’s nearly 2.

Sluggy Freelance (2) (3) (4)

Again, tired, and not wanting to deal with all four, especially since two of them are filler and one of them I don’t understand the significance of. So just the last one will bear my attention. And what I’ve gotta say is- Bun-Bun is still awesome.

Something Positive (2) (3)

Three more pages regarding people that I barely remember and don’t really care about. With a possible exception for Silas.

The SuperFogeys (Origins) (2) (3)

Yep. 2:15. Officially about to shut down. Can’t say that I’m not glad to see the end of those guest strips, though. Because Brock still writes the pages for Origins, I still count it as his work.

Union of Heroes (2)

And we move on to day two. Who else will try to brutally kill our hero?

xkcd (2)

I’m not going to pretend to understand either of these, but I’d like to point out that I did catch the pun on the first page. NO. You don’t do that.

I’m slipping up every few days, huh? Not that it’s going to stop me. Falling a few times isn’t going to keep me from beating this damned procrastination bug!

Back on Earth

It took me awhile to remember the history of this (the walrus killed the Javis-bear that Javis was having fill in for him) so it wasn’t really all that funny to me.

The Book of Biff

Regarding the subtext of this, that is precisely why I now carry ibuprofen with me wherever I go. I have a little pill case that attaches to my key ring.

Cyanide and Happiness

This didn’t really make me amused in the traditional sense, but I did like the originality.

Game Destroyers (2)

The first one is pretty much just filler, so I’m just going to skip ahead to the most recent page. I think I might be the Alden in my group. I’m left out a lot and nobody pays much attention to me even when I’m there. That might be why I don’t like him too much…

Irregular Webcomic

Wow, that was quick. The Fantasy theme has been working on that quest since Irregular Webcomic started.

Misfile

Ash makes a valid point here. That point is part of why I enjoy Hallow’s Eve despite the commercialism that has been imbued into it.

Mysteries of the Arcana

Um… great. A windblown piece of cloth. I like the simplicity, definitely, but… yeah, it lacks a certain flair.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

This reminded me of Big Bang Theory. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then too bad because I don’t feel like explaining it.

Sluggy Freelance

Sluggy seems to have this miraculous ability to make bad puns that I don’t mind.

Something Positive

Hey look, it’s him. I’m going to be saying that a lot, aren’t I?

The SuperFogeys

I liked the concept of this. The monotonous usage of swearing bored me a bit, though. Would it be too much to ask for one expletive attached to a verb or something?

I’m not particularly late for any reason! Awesome! Although I have discovered a new method that Today.com has found to piss me off.

The Book of Biff

I still don’t understand southern hemisphere seasons, and I doubt I will unless I experience them.

Ctrl+Alt+Del

One of the great things about having a wife or girlfriend that you know loves you is that, even when things are going horribly, you know that they love you and would probably kill you if you committed suicide.

Cyanide and Happiness

Gold? What was he thinking? That stuff is soft! He should have gone with titanium. Much better material

ErfWorld

The Mistress knows all the right buttons to press. I just hope that she’s pressing the buttons on the same person.

Game Destroyers

I think that may be why I don’t have any sort of connection with Alden. Who knows?

Goodbye Chains

Oh gods, he really didn’t crack…

Irregular Webcomic

You know, you’d think that there’d be some kind of mental barrier from knowingly… with their grandmothers.

Luke Surl

I think they did a series of tests regarding this, proving that the five-minute goldfish memory thing was a myth.

Misfile

Wait a second, so where was Ash during Halloween last year?

Mysteries of the Arcana

After reading this, the first thing that I did (of course) was look at the Extras, only to find that there’s only one wallpaper currently available matching Theresa’s description. I found that disappointing, but it was nicely balanced by Keith’s pop-culture manifestation of being all-powerful.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

The Matrix comes to mind when reading this. And the word “xenocide” (the extermination of an entire species). Our forefathers charged those batteries, and no alien is going to live to use them!

Sluggy Freelance

Well, that certainly is a fairly simple explanation of gravity.

Something Positive

Yeah, the bar was nice, although honestly I preferred listening to Randy talk today. Check out the home page and scroll down a bit for that if you want to watch (I review comics, not video blogs, so I’m not including it on the list).

The SuperFogeys

He opened all of Christmas in two seconds!? That’s amazing! Wait, how do you even do that?

Union of Heroes

All that being beaten up and almost dying, and he still doesn’t even have a girlfriend. Bummer.

xkcd

I’m torn between being amused and being uncomfortable. Good job, xkcd.

Delayed post, but this time it’s not because of procrastination. It was a late night.

+1 Comics

If I ever encounter a game that’s so difficult that it isn’t even fun anymore, I stop playing. Simple as that. Regarding what I was actually thinking about when I saw this page, the coolest end game frame that I, personally, have ever seen was when playing Resident Evil 4. “You Are Dead”. Hard to argue with it.

The Book of Biff

Here’s another idea- don’t touch your eye to ANYTHING. Except maybe contact lenses.

Counterfeit Nickels

If the prospective parents don’t notice this sort of “mistake”, they’re probably too stupid to properly raise a child.

Ctrl+Alt+Del

My main thought on this goes towards the one major inconsistency. How is Ethan, who never does any work and is currently in a hell of a lot of pain right now, holding the door against two muscled Hawaiian mob members… with one hand!?

Cyanide and Happiness

Too vaguely disturbing. Moving on.

Eben07

I don’t know Pearl Jam, but I do like some older music. Matchbox 20, Bowling For Soup, The Offspring… Just because it’s old doesn’t mean that it’s not still good music.

Goblins

And now we see the other opinion on monster level-taking. And I still want to know her class!

Irregular Webcomic

Thank goodness someone is thinking realistically. They may be the heroes, but the sidekick is actually competent.

Misfile

Em’s taking this thing way too hard. Seriously.

Mysteries of the Arcana

This is nice for a filler page (or a page deceptively like a filler page), but I do have one thing that I’d like to suggest. Would it be possible for Chrys to shift in the last scene? It seems strange to me that Theresa would show up and she wouldn’t move at all.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

If those pills were actually carcinogenic, wouldn’t people go blind before causing other people cancer?

Sluggy Freelance

Nice wordplay at the end of this. I didn’t find it terribly funny, but I did appreciate it.

Something Positive

Hey, it’s Jhim! Okay, then.

The SuperFogeys

He’s handing out all of these prank gifts, and then he gets a pen. Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? Is he feeling guilty or under-appreciated? I can’t tell.

A little later than I would have liked today. I think I’m slipping- gonna have to watch that.

Back on Earth

I have no proper comment for this. In a good way.

The Book of Biff

I’d never be good at cheese boat racing. I don’t have very much upper body strength. Also, I like cheese and can’t swim.

Cyanide and Happiness

The question of why this guy is wearing a bra in the first place arises.

Game Destroyers

I’d previously never considered PG not going on a game destroying trip. Which is weird, because he hasn’t been seen to be much good for anything.

Girly

Hey, it’s El…. what’s-his-face. Chuy. I guess that if the sidekicks’ weakness is love, he’s like a nuke for them.

Goodbye Chains

Yep, he’s almost definitely going to crack now.

Irregular Webcomic

I enjoy impossibly brainiac characters. They’re a solution for just about everything.

Lead Paint

I continue to adore this character, although I can’t specifically agree with her statement here. I’ve refused to watch Glee, for fear of how many braincells I might lose in the process. One thing that does bug me about the page is the backgrounds, though.

Luke Surl

Need I say it? “Pun fail”

Misfile

The person that I’d shown the previous page to is a girl, and even she had to admit that Ash’s statement was at least partially true. I don’t see why Em’s getting upset, really.

Mysteries of the Arcana

This page was kind of ruined for me by the break in the fourth wall. Which is weird because I usually really enjoy that sort of thing.

No Need For Bushido

Uh-huh, who called it? Didn’t I just say that things were going to start going wrong?

Peebles Lab

I think I read something about this once. “The more things change, the more things stay the same.”

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

This reminds me of some issues that I have with the idea of God, but that would take up a whole paragraph.

Sluggy Freelance

Two things I loved about this. First was the “isn’t it obvious” line. That was pure brilliance. Second was the simplicity of adding a single earring to make it obvious that the triceratops was a woman.

Something Positive

Something tells me that she’s resisting this “bonding” thing.

The SuperFogeys

I’m not seeing much of a point on this page, but whatever.

Union of Heroes

I’m still surprised that the last four episodes were all one day.

xkcd

You know, when I was single, and again now that I can’t see my girlfriend at all, every mention of someone dating seems like this to me.

For some reason, the list seems shorter today compared to yesterday. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it’s Sunday or that there’s a lot of comics that aren’t off their holiday break yet, or if it’s just that I don’t have to redo that whole fiasco with the full list update, but this happens to be very peaceful. Although I don’t think I noticed before just how many daily webcomics I have on my list. S*P was the only non-daily that updated today.

Cyanide and Happiness

Um… I think there was supposed to be a joke here. Feel free to let me know if you get it.

Game Destroyers

Well, why should they care if PG failed? Really, they’re all failures. Obviously, I meant that statement in the nicest way possible.

Irregular Webcomic

Mmm, yep. Newton messed with magic. Got that.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Honestly, I think we should quarantine all of the drug addicts. Just fence off an area for them to live away from everyone else until they pump out a clean generation.

Sluggy Freelance

I quite enjoy these tarot cards. I find them to be very imaginative.

Something Positive

Well, at least Randy isn’t in as big of a funk as I was, or this comic would never have seen the light of day.

At last I return! -insert evil laughter here- To be honest, it really should have taken less time to come back. However, I am notorious as a procrastinator. My New Year’s resolution was actually to deal with this very real issue. As such, I spent most of the day yesterday reading webcomics and managed to finish off the list today. So yeah, I spent a few weeks avoiding two days of entertaining reading material. See why I have to get this fixed?

Oh, right. On the list itself, I now have two new (and they are still fairly new) comics on my list- Counterfeit Nickels and Peebles Lab. Because I’m reviewing the most recent page of every comic on my list today, I’ll put in my two cents about those today as well. In addition, as of right now, every comic on my list is considered to be off hiatus until further notice. You know, except the one that I wrote way back when.

+1 Comics

This is a pleasant little… holiday filler page. It looks like the logo was implemented as an ornament on the tree, but I don’t think it was done so very well.

Amazoness!

Cyrene’s- wait a second, this is my first comment on this comic, isn’t it? Man, it’s been awhile. I’m pretty sure that I had a whole list of things to say about it, but my memory doesn’t span the months very well. Summary, then. I like this comic, and especially the characters. They’re a lot of fun to follow around. However, therein lies a small issue. Except for a few extremely distinctive characters, I tend to have issues with telling the characters apart. Having everybody wearing the same clothes kind of has that effect on me. Not to mention that I’m not good at recognizing greek names.

Anyways, Cyrene’s spying antics still haven’t failed to amuse me. Something suggests that she should feel some shame over this sort of thing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case

Back on Earth

So Javis is now buddies with a badger? I’m not sure if I’m understanding this. Most badgers that I’ve met would be furious at the idea of being thrown, for whatever reason.

The Book of Biff

I was a little bummed when I found out that this was only a ten-second loop, but hey, it’s an animated comic! And with a pretty cool theme, too.

Bunny Pandemic

I’m pretty sure that “defenestrate” means “kill”, but honestly, I’m a little worried about looking it up. It sounds too much like “defecate” for me to want to take that risk. …Nevermind, it means “throw out the window”. Assumably of a very tall building.

Concession

Tiny furry peoples. That is all.

Counterfeit Nickels

New comic on board. And while I’ll give it at least two weeks, I honestly don’t see it getting very far beyond that. The style of it reminds me too much of Matter of Fact. Plus, there isn’t really a comic page navigation system so much as there is a list of comic pages. If you want to read the previous page in the comic, you have to click the link to that page- there is no button that will always bring you to the page previous to the page that you’re viewing. If that’s hard to understand, just check it out and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

You know, I’d never actually thought of this before. Besides magic (which as we’ve seen from the witchburnings in the past does not mix well with Christianity), how does Santa supply all of these toys?

Ctrl+Alt+Del

The demon and half-assed angel are something that I’m used to now. What I’d like to see more often is the other people nearby wondering what the hell the advised person is doing talking to himself or, even better, where the hell that tiny demon and angel came from.

Cyanide and Happiness

He should find a competent magician…

Eben07

I honestly have less of an issue with Bernard’s outfit than I do Eben’s. Seriously, what the hell?

ErfWorld

That’s what happens when you allow zombies to retain some individuality. They react as they normally would to events.

Game Destroyers

Uh… Fig came from Wackytown. There’s no way the Stevens would have any effect on him.

Girly

Ah, yes, the classic equation- person+awesome stuff=awesome person. Not all that interesting for me, honestly.

Goblins

Wow, so Fumbles wasn’t the first goblin to come up with that idea. I wonder what level she is, then. And what class.

Goodbye Chains

I guess that the life of Banjo’s horse means more to Banjo than his own life.

Hero

I think I’m lost. I don’t see how cats are relevant at this point.

Heroes Inc.

What can I say? I prefer the sprites.

Irregular Webcomic

Yeah, release from eternal torment is usually considered to be a pretty good deal.

Lead Paint

I want to hug this comic. It’s not very often that I actually see reasonable criticism of these movies besides: “OMG TWILIGHT!” and “twilite movies suk @ss”, and the set-up for it was brilliant in its own right.

Life’s a Witch

Another X-mas filler page. Alright, then.

Luke Surl

A graph joke. And it happens to be one of the 80% of graph jokes that I do not understand.

Misfile

I had to go out of my way to share this page. Rumisiel blurting out Ash’s male opinion on girls during Halloween was just too funny.

Mysteries of the Arcana

Chrys seems to have occasional issues with taking the situation into account.

No Need For Bushido

Awesome, the farmers are doing well! This is just about the right time for something else to go horribly wrong.

The Noob Comic

Gender imbalance is obviously alive and well. Just in different ways now.

Order of the Stick

I’m not exactly sure what happened between the last two frames on this page. It’s bugging me.

Our Last Gasp

New Year’s filler. Which might actually be more annoying than X-mas filler.

Peebles Lab

Peebles Lab is kind of similar to xkcd, as it’s a stick figure comic. It’s also a math/science comic. It’s also very difficult for me to understand. There is no plot, I haven’t seen anything particularly funny so far, and since, again, it’s a stick figure comic, the art isn’t worth paying attention to. Uh… sorry. I’m compelled to be honest.

I didn’t get what the joke was until I saw the alt-text. Turns out that these stick-people are supposed to be famous scientists.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Yeah, the problem with slippery slopes is that most people have some degree of stubbornness. Either things stop or they get used to them changing.

Sluggy Freelance

It’s a dinosaur. What more do you expect me to say?

Something Positive

This sort of thing is precisely why I refuse to have cherished childhood memories.

The SuperFogeys

Yeah, I’m not too crazy about the joke on this page.

Union of Heroes

Aaaaand we’ve got another X-mas filler page.

xkcd

Fact: Reality is not as easy as fiction

Getting Back in the Game

Published by soysauce under Update List Edit This

As you all (and I’m hoping that the “all” is accurate, considering my absence) might have already guessed, I’ve been a little bit busy just having a girlfriend to update. However, that has kind of changed. We have not broken up. We have been… separated. Her grandmother, who is her legal guardian, would rather she be in another city or even another state rather than have anything to do with “my type”. And she has issues with me (18 going on 19 this month) dating her 16 year old granddaughter, which I resent heavily. I never had any illegal- and they would be illegal- intentions towards my girlfriend. However, thanks to the selective deafness of her grandmother, I’ve been effectively banned from contacting her in any manner. Which sucks.

On the flip side, now that I can’t see/talk to/exchange coded messages with/etc. my girlfriend, I have a lot more time on my hands. And so, I’m “Getting Back in the Game” of webcomic reviews.

I would like to thank, first of all, all of my glorious spammers. Largely thanks to them, I made 73 cents last month- to put things in perspective for a moment, my best month that didn’t include a “dollar per day” clause was August, during which I earned $1.82. It may, however, take some time to go through what is currently 1,737 spam messages-not counting the ones that have sneaked their way through- that have accumulated since I don’t want to accidentally delete any comments worth reading.

I also have more than a month of archives to go through with every webcomic that has a plot- luckily, comics like Book of Biff and Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal do not require such attention. And to put even more time on my hands, it is my understanding that all of the comics that were on my hiatus list- not including my own short-lived comic- have updated since I left. In addition, I somehow acquired what seems to be two other comics that I’ll need to read through the archives of.

So… yeah. This might take awhile.
